If you missed the Mail & Guardian Newsroom show on 2oceansvibe Radio, don’t dispair.

We have the podcast of this week’s Mail & Guardian Newsroom show for your analytical pleasure.

In this week’s edition, show presenters Charles Leonard and Amanda Strydom started the show off by talking about one story that will certainly stay on the news agenda for this week – police brutality.
Last Tuesday cellphone footage showed taxi driver, Mido Macia, being dragged behind a police van which caused a global outrage. Macia died of head injuries in a police. Last year 720 people died, allegedly at the hands of the police. That is not all. In last week’s Mail & Guardian edition there was a distressing story about the former financial head of the police crime intelligence division, Solly Lazarus,  accused of going on a five year shopping spree for vehicles for himself and his family. During that time he splashed out on a Nissan Murano 4×4, a motorcycle, two Honda all-terrain vehicles and a Kia Picanto – all allegedly at the taxpayer’s expense.

Other features on the show this week include a trip to Silicon Alley with Amanda, who spoke to  Mail & Guardian Online editor Chris Roper, who is on his way to Austin, Texas for this year’s South by South West conference.

Missed the show? No problem. Join Amanda Strydom, Nickolaus Bauer, Mmanaledi Mataboge and Verashni Pillay next week at the same time for an hour of insight and analysis from the people who break the news. Expect big investigative stories, business insight, interviews with the people who make the big decisions, and the finest in arts and culture coverage.
