Footage of mountain bikers smashing into antelope, and vice versa is becoming a bit of a thing in South Africa.
The video above shows Robert Mennen of Team Topeak Ergon, cycling into a duiker (a species of small antelope) during Stage One of the Absa Cape Epic cycle race in Citrusdal, in the Western Cape.
The collision brings Mennen to the ground, and breaks the handle bars from the frame of his bike.
The video does not show whether or not the duiker was injured in the collision.
In 2011, Evan van der Spuy was broadsided by a red hartebeest antelope while competing in a cycle race in KwaZulu-Natal. The video made international headlines.
