Professional BMX rider Zack Warden gave the crowd and the commentators a special treat at the GoPro BMX Big Air at the Barcelona X Games. Warden’s “back flip bikeflip late tailwhip” secured his gold win. The “Iron Lotus,” as Warden calls the move, was a first; he had performed the move in Brazil last month sans late tailwhip and still managed to take the gold. The trick was dedicated to his mother.
This is Warden’s second gold at the GoPro BMX Big Air. Warden commenting on his win:
It’s truly a feeling I can’t describe … I’m on cloud nine right now.
More from Warden:
With BMX Big Air, this is the simplest, biggest thing we’ve got and it’s up to us to push ourselves to always try to bring new stuff to the table, so who knows what the possibilities are with this ramp? It’s up to us to find out.
