From wood to stone, there is no denying that the traditional designs of sunglasses have gone out the window.

    Introducing Pam Tietze.

This New York based designer has created eyewear like you have never seen before. They’re made to see the world like you have never seen IT before. The kaleidoscope glasses range named “Holes” has put an avant-garde twist into the item we used to use to protect our eyes from glares.

Now you can look at the world in kaleidoscope vision. Here is an explanation from the artist herself.

My latest work pursues this by appropriating utilitarian objects to create living, psychedelic art. Looking through kaleidoscopic glass, geometric order is experienced as visual chaos, formulated from reality yet perceptibly fantastical. In the end, I hope they evoke the feeling of being a tourist in your own reality.

The glasses are made from crystal glass prisms from chandeliers and can give a drug free trance effect to anyone who puts them on.

As a result of being born in a military base in South Korea, the designer has never lost her relationship between “identity and context.” Her Holes label has been used on photo shoots and is being bought for normal use. Click here to go to the Holes Facebook page.
