It is not news straight from the horse’s mouth, but close enough. Brian White, a Topeka Capital analyst believes the next iPhone and iPod will have fingerprint scanning. White also believes the iPhone 5s will have this technology mkaing the update very impressive. The technology, according to White, “will greatly simplify and speed up a customer’s interaction with iOS devices.”
No need to type in your number password with this fingerprint scanner. White added:
Our research suggests that users will simply place their finger on the home key of the iPhone 5S and this will automatically unlock the device, nullifying the need to enter a four-character Apple ID Password. Additionally, we believe this new feature will allow users to more quickly and easily make purchases from iTunes, the iBook Store and the App Store, while also accessing Game Center.
White is also of the opinion that the finger-scanning technology will be used for more than unlocking the phone, it could be used for payment apps among other things.
The rumour mill has been brewing, with good reason too: Last year Apple bought Authentic, the company that had patents for finger-scanning technology.
