Animals with two heads is becoming a thing. First we had the two-headed kitten and now the two-headed turtle. The San Antonio Zoo got a big surprise when this two-headed turtle hatched on 18 June 2013. Staff members at the zoo appropriately named the Texas cooter Thelma and Louise. Curator of Reptiles, Amphibians and Aquatics, Craig Pelke said:
At this time, Thelma and Louise are doing well on exhibit and eating with both heads.
The zoo’s spokeswoman Debbie Rios-Vanskike said the two-headed female hatchling was healthy, adding that the turtle can swim and walk like its siblings. Thelma and Louise made their first appearance on 25 June 2013.
