These airplane and helicopter landings rattle your bones. The fact that you might have to pay for that packet of peanuts is nothing compared to these videos. Narrow misses, mistaken airports, sand storms and makeshift landing strips are no match for these pilots.

    Number 10:

This is what is known as a hard landing. The Avro 146 landing at London City Airport.

    Number 9:

Landing a Bhutan is reserved for only a few pilots and from the video it is clear why.

    Number 8:

A JAL Boeing 747 had the wind get the better of it when it landed at the Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong.

    Number 7:

This is a clip to demonstrate how to land a small plane somewhere in Alaska. The landing strip of choice was a logging road.

    Number 6:

It was not the right time for this aircraft to land when it was caught in a crosswind, at the last second the pilot decides to abort the landing.

    Number 5:

This helicopter lands on an aircraft carrier during rough seas.

    Number 4:

This shows technique on behalf of the pilot. The fighter was landing on a ship during a sand storm in the Persian Gulf in 2003.

    Number 3:

A C-17 landed at the wrong airport. Instead of landing at Mac Dill AFB it landed at a small commuter airport, big fish in a small pond.

    Number 2:

A-6 aircraft lands with a malfunction – partial ejection of the navigator.

    Number 1:

Landing in crosswinds and with no landing gear spells disaster. After an emergency landing at the Miden-Tahoe Airport in Nevada the plane landed successfully on its belly.
