Cape Town based surf photographer, Ant Fox, has pulled something of a coup, with some of his recent prints being bought by US pop star, Jennifer Lopez, following her visit to the Ralph Lauren store in the Hamptons.
Ant Fox, who is a regular contributor to magazines including Surfer and Zig-Zag (see his photo of the year pic here), managed to get some of his work displayed in the Ralph Lauren store in the Hamptons, Long Island, New York – as reported by local fashion blog, Popyacollar.

“A friend got in touch and said they heard the store was looking for a beach/ocean feel and that I should submit some prints. I really didn’t expect them to get as far as appearing in the store, let alone being sold to someone as big as J-Lo,” said the blonde Ryan Gosling lookalike.
“They even had my website stencilled on the window. The whole thing has been quite surreal, to be honest.”
In an industry where it takes unique skills to stand out, Fox’s work seems to have captured the public’s imagination, beyond just surf magazines.
“When someone like Kelly Slater or Jordy Smith is surfing Pipeline, the number of photographers in the water is mind-blowing – almost an aquatic version of the paparazzi at the Oscars,” remarked Fox, who is a keen surfer himself. “That’s why I’ve chosen to look beyond just your generic ‘wave pic’ – hopefully capturing the emotion I feel during those epic moments.”
Here’s a recent pic of 2oceansviber Ant Fox ripping it up, on the other side of the lens.
Mondo, dude!
