Forbes has released their Cash Kings 2013 list – a list of the world’s highest paid hip hop artists and rappers. We must say, we aren’t surprised by the list considering how much bling these guys flash on a day-to-day basis.

Topping the list is Sean “Diddy” Combs. In previous years when he hasn’t topped the list he has publicly bashed Forbes, rapping in one song:

    [Screw] the Forbes list

Now that he’s on top again it seems he has changed his tune, telling Forbes:

You started learning how to count right, I see.

Combs made $50 million in the past year. His wealth is a product of his huge empire that includes his Bad Boy record label, Sean John clothing line and agency, Blue Flame. Forbes says a big portion of his wealth can be accredited to his agreement with Ciroc Vodka. Combs is even launching a cable channel called Revolt later on this year.

Next up, Jay Z.  Coming in a close second with his total earnings for the past year at $43 million, Jay  has had a ton of sold out live shows this year, heads Roc Nation record label and his new album went platinum even before it launched because Samsung bought 1 million copies.

Sitting in third place is Dr. Dre who reeled in a nice $40 million. He has fallen two spots from the top since last year, because of his nine figure pay out for selling a part of Beats by Dr. Dre in 2011. The headphones are still bringing in cash for Dr. Dre as he is expanding the company to include a music streaming service.

The top 10 cash kings pulled in a cool $256 million last year. Check out the full list of 20 here.
