This grim story seems to have come out of nowhere. It looks as if it originates with two Russian anti-gay activists, who were seeking to lure a gay man into their house so that they can taunt and question him.
They posted an ad online posing as a 15 year-old boy who is available for sex. Unluckily for one man called ‘David Smith’ (his name is eventually revealed to be Bonga) a student from Johannesburg who attends the Shukhov State Technological University, he replies to the ad and is directed to the honey trap, where two bullish Russians are waiting for him.
After catching him naked in the bathroom, they record and initiation-style video of him sitting in the bath, being grilled by one of the Russians. They proceed to mock the student, “Blowjob… show blowjob. Don’t drink, blowjob,” as the student is made to demonstrate the sexual act with a beer bottle.

They also slam his head with a watermelon, only after making him lick it sexually. “Black, white, black white,” says one of the anti-LGBT activists, as he mocks the colour of his palm against the colour of the back of his hand.
This comes after the recent furore about president Putin’s new anti-gay laws, which allow for police to detain suspected homosexuals for up to two weeks. If that isn’t bad enough, Russian MPs will discuss a bill early next week that could see homosexual couples lose custody of their children.
With the FIFA World Cup scheduled to be played in Russia in 2018, many questions will be raised about whether or not players and spectators might go so far as to boycott the event.
