Why has it taken the world so long to come up with this? It’s a total no-brainer. IfOnly is the name of a new site that is bringing people and celebrities together – and making serious cash while doing it.

San Francisco entrepreneur Trevor Traina got in contact with celebrities, and hand-picked a e few that would be willing to spend some time with fans. For a start, you can have lunch with Mike Tyson before watching him ringside for R500,000. If that’s a bit too rich for your blood, you can set up a meeting with Shakira for R150,000. Madonna, Joe Montana, and Alice Waters have also offered “experiences” through the site. In a media statement, Traina noted that:

We’re recognizing that anyone who’s a top talent or a luminary has a natural market for their expertise, but no one has really created that marketplace for them. Their time and attention has value, just like an empty guest room has value.

So he’s basically doing for celebrities what AirBnB did for empty guest bedrooms – helping people monetise those things they neglected to monetise.
