Were we supposed to be taking Scientologists seriously? Hah. If you, like us, had thought that it was just a fad, then you might have to re-examine your prejudices. These guys are not kidding around.
On Monday, Scientologist ‘leader’, David Miscavige unveiled a brand new ‘Cathedral’ in Clearwater, Florida. The mammoth building cost a whopping R14,5 billion to build, but it will easily recoup these expenses after it has facilitated the learning of new ‘super powers’ in Scientology recruits.
Yup, part of the function of the 377,000-square-foot building is to teach it’s followers how to use their ‘super-powers’. Really really.
Among the 6,000 Scientology devotees to attend were Tom Cruise and John Travolta, who stood at the front row when the ribbon was snipped and the cathedral was officially opened for… business?
