Once upon a time, Adam Sandler was hailed as the king of comedy in Hollywood. But that time is no more. Forbes just placed him at the top of a list of the most overpaid actors in Hollywood. Ouch.
The actor, who once made comedy gold with movies like ‘Big Daddy’, still commands a paycheck of over $15 million per movie. Unfortunately, he’s also become a leader in producing massiv box office flops like ‘Jack & Jill’ and ‘That’s My Boy’. These movies only made $150 million and $80 million respectively, which is quite depressing for studio execs who shelled out $70 million to make Jack & Jill and $57 million for That’s My Boy.
Forbes estimates that for every dollar that Adam Sandler was paid, he only made studios $3,40. This basically means that Adam Sandler is the acting equivalent of a black hole.
Other actors that made the list include romantic comedy queens Katherine Heigl and Reese Witherspoon, and actors Kevin James and Steve Carrell (sob).
