2014 is the year of wearable technology, and although Apple has yet to even announce a smart watch to compete with Samsung’s offerings, the rumour mill is churning. The New York Times claims that the Apple smart watch might be equipped with a solar-charging layer that would top up the battery when the device is worn in daylight, though such a solution is considered “years from becoming a reality.”
