After the recent political fallout between AgangSA and the DA, AgangSA leader Mamphela Ramphele has confirmed that South African-born billionaire, Nathan Kirsh has funded her party and will continue to do so. The revelation comes in the wake of Helen Zille claiming that Ramphele’s motivation for the now deceased merger was to secure donor funding.

According to the statistics released by Forbes in March 2013, Nathan Kirsh has a net worth of $3.1 billion. Kirsh, having made his first fortune from founding a corn milling business in Swaziland back in 1958, has since gone on to make the bulk of his fortune through Jetro Holdings. It is reported that Kirsh is the mystery donor that prompted Ramphele to join the DA.
