The 2014 F1 season brings with it a whole pile of changes from last season. With the F1 cars being the forefront of car manufacturing, technology developed for them eventually finds its way down to the normal automobile consumer’s road car. But let’s hope these nose changes don’t catch on.
This years F1 will feature turbocharged engines for the first time since 1988. Among a number of significant rule changes to this years competition, fuel efficiency is at the top. Cars will be limited to 100kg of fuel per race, thus energy recovery systems like the K-ERS and the ERS-H will feature in this year’s season. K-ERS uses the kinetic energy from braking for extra power, while ERS-H generates power from heat loss.
