It seems like the SA online store market is heating up with a new player entering the frame; and you know what that means for consumers: more competition, lower prices.
We hope.
Raru is the new kid on the block, but the team behind it are no newcomers to the game, as co-founders Neil Smith, Waine Smith and Jose Pereira were the founders of Take 2, now known as Takealot since being purchased by Tiger Global.
The three were on a restraint of trade after the initial sale of Take 2, but are now back on the scene.
Raru will sell movies, video games, books, electronics and music, similar to the product range of Takealot, and will look to grow it depending on what works for the site.
