These Guys Have Made 2,000 Times The Money They Invested In Uber

The valuation of Uber is poised to hit an eye-popping $17 billion in its latest round of funding, which makes the original investors some very, very happy people.

Jumping and capitalising on those great ideas can always be daunting, but sometimes the risk pays off big time, and this is definitely the case with the investors of the super-popular transport app company, Uber.

Once the numbers had been crunched, Uber is now said to be worth $17 billion (around R181 billion), making it one of the most valuable private technology companies in the world.

Due to this, the early investors who coughed up their money are now seeing their shares valued up to 2,000 times their original worth.

That means even a tiny little $20,000 angel investment is now worth around $40 million. Even investors from the $3.5 billion round have now almost quintupled their money in less than a year.

Some of the original investors laughing all the way to the bank include: Mitch Kapor (founder of Lotus Development Corporation), Chris Sacca (founder, Lowercase Capital), Naval Ravikant (founder, AngelList), Shawn Fanning (co-founder, Napster), David Sacks (founder, Yammer) and a number of other investment company heads who you’ll be incredible envious of.
