They say a picture tells a thousand words. We’re going to have to rely on that fact, as our Saturday Ground Patrol news videographer, Gus Van Der Spek, has just sent these in.
It seems the building across from the iconic Woodstock Exchange, on Albert Road, Woodstock, is on fire.
Van Der Spek’s epic photographs capture the panic in the streets and indeed the building, as residents find themselves trapped, using tied up bedsheets and ladders to scramble out of windows, lest they are engulfed or asphyxiated by flames and smoke.
It is not known what started the fire. Or anything, for that matter.
If you have more information, do leave a comment.
We hope everyone managed to escape safely.
