Designers get away with some horrifically weird things in the name of fashion, but it seems unlikely that this designer will live this choice down.

The commonwealth games are all about showing national pride and representing your country in the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie… and not about laughing at the very poor fashion choices made for the Scottish athletes.

The costume  kit designer, Jilli Blackwood, is standing proudly in the middle of the athletes modelling the get up. Please notice the detail in the gents’ socks, and yes, the handbag is part of the outfit. Stunning… we are just thoroughly stunned that this passed a selection committee.

Looking at Jilli, the design could have been worse.
