Marvel is mixing up the more-familiar appearances of it’s famed comic-book characters, with the new Thor being revealed as a woman, and now the new Captain America.
Sam Wilson, originally known as the Falcon, will take over the shield and spandex from Steve Rogers, which makes him the first black Captain America.
In an interview with Marvel, series editor Tom Brevoort discussed the different attitude that Wilson will bring to the character.
While Sam shares many of Steve’s beliefs in a general sense, he’s also a very different person with a very different background. He didn’t grow up in the 1930s, he’s a modern day man in touch with the problems of the 21st Century.
