Customisation is the name of the game in the modern world – no one wants something that’s straight off the shelf, and the same should be said for your bicycle, mo-ped or Vespa scooter.
Sports media personality Sias du Plessis (The Ginger) has taken this to heart and has given his scooter a serious face-lift, adding some personality and snazzy paintwork to his prized possession.
Vespas are meant to stand out. So I decided that I needed to make my LX150 stand out even more than the rest.
Sias went with a World War II-inspired sugar skull on his Vespa, and since his ride is only one of two titanium coloured LX150 Vespas, it’s a truly unique design.
The Ginger is also excited to join one of Vespa’s planned trips, particularly the Johannesburg to Cape Town adventure.
I heard the ride from Joboogie to Cape Town is a blast. The Katse Dam trip also looked like great fun. I hear they are a top-notch group that like to venture off the beaten track. I will definitely be signing up for a trip soon.
If you could customise your Vespa in any way, what would you do? Any crazy ideas you can think of?
