Internet users seem to be taking selfies everywhere, but it’s important to know when to NOT do a selfie.
Unfortunately, a young girl by the name of Breanna Mitchell (@PrincessBMM) posted a selfie of her smiling along with a cheerful emoji (all good so far)… but it was in the Auschwitz Concentration Camp.
Breanna immediately got a lot of hate coming her way, but she defended herself, saying that it was taken out of context.
She wasn’t ignorant of the history of Auschwitz. In fact, she said she had studied it with her father, who has since died, and they had hoped to go there together. She says she was smiling because she finally made that trip.
A number of users supported Breanna, but took it a little far when trying to defend her:
