If Neknominations weren’t stupid and pointless enough, the latest social media craze requires people to pour cold water over another person, and the senseless game has already claimed a few victims.
The “Cold Water Challenge” usually uses a bucket or big jug to pour the water, but eleven members of a bowling club in Isselburg, filled a bulldozer shovel with 2,000 litres of water and attempted to pour it on a German father.
As the shovel raised in the air, the bulldozer tipped over forward and landed on the man, killing him, as well as injuring five of the friends.
Other accidents involving the game have already begun happening, as a 19-year-old drowned when he rode his bicycle into a port in Beganne in western Brittany while a friend filmed him.
Another teen was permanently injured after diving headfirst into shallow water near Calais.
