  • Afrikaans M&G Journalist Takes Massive Swipe At Steve Hofmeyr

Johann Pienaar is clearly sick and tired of Steve Hofmeyr’s rants and racial slurs on social media platforms.

He starts off by saying that, yes, in 2014 he is in fact “reaping the benefits of a system [apartheid] that favoured [him]”. He goes on to say that his parents supported apartheid, and that even he did as a youth (obviously he has changed his mind since the 80’s).

So why then, Pienaar asks, is Steve Hofmeyr whining about it all? Steve’s life is even better than the author’s, especially financially.

The overwhelming impression created by their articles and utterances on social media is that they are a bunch of whiners, everlastingly complaining while clutching a loaf of white bread.

And even though Steve tried to explain his “blacks created apartheid” post and mend the dog-show of a mess he created, he is still moaning.

Pienaar does go on though about Steve’s comments in the past.

They are reminiscent of the arguments of mainstream conservatives of the 1980s, which reminds us to be grateful that we have moved on.

Well, let’s hope as a country we can move on. We don’t need the likes of Steve regurgitating already soft-spot issues with racism.
