The world of modeling and skinny sample size humans is exhausting and always, always causes so much drama.
Take Calvin Klein for example. Once again they are taking the heat for the size of its models. This time though, it’s for size 10 “plus size” model Myla Dalbesio.
Anyone who is angry about not reaching their goal weight took to Twitter with angry comments about how she is classified as plus size when she really is not.
That’s how I would look if I starved myself for seven weeks, and sat the entire time on a spinning bike.
However, at no time has CK said anything about Myla being plus size.
The campaign wasn’t a plus-size campaign, and the line of underwear isn’t for plus-sized women. The Twitter controversy was actually ignited by an interview Dalbesio gave to Elle, during which she describes her thoughts on being cast as a “plus size” model for other brands — not Calvin Klein.
So, world, calm down.
Calvin Klein has said that this new campaign is set to “communicate that our new line is more inclusive and available in several silhouettes in an extensive range of sizes”.
