Nature never ceases to amaze us. Some nature lovers were at South Luangwa National Park, Zambia, where they definitely got more than they bargained for.
A young elephant, said to be one year old, got attacked by a pride of lioness’s. Even though the male are the bigger of the two when it comes to lions, the females are known to be the hunters in the pride, while the males lie around and spread their seed – Don’t you just love nature?
Whilst under attack by 14 lions, the young elephant seems to play it quite casual, knowing that he has the upper hand in this battle as long as he can turn and face them face to face.
As the lions viciously set about the youngster – who was separated from its herd – they begin taking it in turns to leap on its back and sink their teeth into its backside and legs.
Luckily there was a waterhole that the elephant moved towards, where it managed to shrug the lions off its back. Check how he kicks one away at about 1:35 – Bitch, please!
