One would think that the South African government had much better things to do, rather than agonise over this new bill.
And what is this magnificent bill that our leaders want passed?
Why, it will legalise teenage sex, so long as there is only a two year age gap between the two children.
Let’s explain this: gone is the ‘no sex under 16’ rule.
Now, if a child is 15 and he/she has sex with a 13-year old, then everything is happy and dandy. But, if the other child is 12, then there is trouble.
Last year, the Constitutional Court passed a ruling “which found adolescents’ rights were violated by the criminalisation of consensual sex”.
Because when you’re 12, you can make grown up decisions like this…
