At a quick glimpse one can barely tell the difference. You’ll see it’s the same body shape, lights and radiator grill. Most noticeably, though, is the £26 000 price difference.
Launched at the Guangzhou motor show last week, it has certainly put Jaguar Land Rover’s nose out of place. Dr Ralf Speth, chief executive of Land Rover, is not happy at all.
The fact that this kind of copying is ongoing in China is very disappointing. As a company we have invested heavily in China with our joint venture partner Chery.
Ian Callum, who designs for Jaguar Land Rover, tweeted the X7, saying “New LandWind from China. At Guangzhou auto show. Haven’t we seen this before somewhere??”
