Twitter’s CFO Screws Up With Public Tweet Meant To Be Confidential

Have you ever fired off a message that wasn't meant to go public? That drunk Facebook status maybe? Well, this takes accidental messaging to the next level...check it.

Even the big wigs at Twitter seem to be having trouble deciphering the confusing social media platform.

The social media company’s chief financial officer, Anthony Noto, accidentally sent a private message publicly on Twitter. Noto tweeted the following private message on Monday: “I still think we should buy them. He is on your schedule for Dec 15 or 16 — we will need to sell him. i have a plan.”

The tweet was quickly deleted, but Fusion’s Kevin Roose caught it:

Oooooo, spicy! It seems like Noto is trying to complete some sort of deal or acquisition. It does beg the question though: If a message is meant to be private, why not just SMS, or Whatsapp it instead?

Silly, silly Twitter CFO man. You should know better. What chance do the rest of us have if you’re still getting it wrong on Twitter?
