Ask any group of self-respecting drunkards and they can generally recall the last time they did the midnight shuffle to a McDonald’s drive-through to stuff their faces. Now, fans of the Big Mac in Australia need not take to the streets to get their fix, as the fast-food giants will sell the burger’s famed secret sauce in takeaway tubs. This from Metro:

For the month of February, McDonald’s Australia is selling special sauce in 25ml tubs, from 920 of its stores, for a bargain 50 cents.

Even with the dreaded dollar-to-rand conversion that is a mere R5. Crikey.

McDonald’s are also auctioning off a rather special bottle for a good cause. Metro again:

Maccy D’s is auctioning off a 500ml bottle of the special sauce on eBay…in aid of Ronald McDonald House Charities. The listing currently has a top bid of AU $23,100…

Wow, I know it’s for a good cause and all but someone has an unhealthy obsession with Maccas me thinks. R208 824 is a whole lot of love for the fabled secret sauce.

Then again, I have seen first-hand someone drive 120 km from Grahamstown to PE to dine in a Golden Arches so we all have our crosses to bear.
