Well, weirdly, this makes a lot of sense.
If you watch the video (best you quickly phone an American friend to come watch with you to translate the narrators fast paced, accent ridden talking) you will see how it’s easy to believe that Homer has actually been in a vegetative coma since the April Fools episode back in 1993.
It’s been a while since I last told you to go make your cup of coffee… but I implore you to go and do it now so that you can sit back and concentrate on the video, which will explain everything. Also, the caffeine may help you keep up with the guy talking.
In a nutshell though, in case you need to rush to a meeting in a few minutes, Bart shook a can of Duff beer on April Fool’s Day which resulted in the house exploding and Homer slipping into a coma when in hospital. Prior to the exploding Duff can, Simpsons episodes had been pretty normal. Post the Duff can, they involve space travel, the Loch Ness monster, Lady Gaga and numerous celeb cameos.
The reason? There’s a TV in Homer’s hospital room and he can, even though he is in a coma, hear what’s going on in real life.
Just watch the video.
