By all accounts a Steve Aoki show is quite the spectacle. The EDM superstar DJ isn’t just famous for his beat-dropping ability – he has also made a habit out of flinging cakes into his fans and hopping on top of a blow-up raft to enjoy a spot of crowd-surfing.

The problem isn’t so much the cake or the raft, however, it’s that he loves to land in the raft after leaping from great heights. So far this habit had mostly gone to plan, but now Aoki faces a lawsuit alleging he broke a girl’s neck during one such stunt. Here’s YourEDM:

After ascending a nearly 20 foot scaffolding Aoki is seen jumping onto a raft in the crowd, and makes a landing that we believe could actually break someone’s neck as he clearly depresses the raft significantly, hardly lessening the fall. The result was an unconscious Brittany who later found out that her neck was indeed broken, and to this day the pain reportedly hasn’t gone away. The lawsuit extends to include the Hard Rock Hotel [San Diego] as well as Aoki…

As of yet Aoki has yet to comment publicly on the lawsuit, although one has to wonder why it has taken three years for the case to come to light. Aoki may want to tone down his antics until this case has been settled, although the cake throwing seems harmless enough and I’m sure it’s popular with American audiences.
