Whilst I absolutely love and appreciate how on-my-toes cyclists keep me and my car when it comes to getting around traffic circles (and general driving, really), this latest bout of driver versus cyclist road rage is unbelievable.
A video of an incident in Richmond, London, was caught on video, and shows the extensive foul-language vocabulary that one Jason Wells has stored away for these special moments.
Apparently the two vehicles (bike and 4×4) “clashed” on the road and Mr Wells found it necessary to block the cyclist and then stop him. As Wells gets out of his car, the language starts…
There’s a ******* cycle lane. Put your bike down you ****. ******* idiot. I’d ******* eat you for breakfast. You simple ****. I’ll call the ******* police. Did you thump my car you ****? I’ll ******* kill you, ****. I’ll smash your ******* teeth down your throat.
I know. I don’t even sound that bad when I stub my toe on the coffee table in winter (and believe me, I can sound like a sailor).
No one has been arrested but the Met police have said that a “50-year-old man voluntarily attended a south London police station where he was interviewed in connection with the incident”.
Hmm. I’m not really on anyone’s side here… But, hey, cyclists… about those round-abouts…
