  • Here’s The 10 Best And Worst Super Beasts In Film

What with Jurassic World entering our lives recently, Rolling Stone took it upon themselves to compile a list of the ten best/worst super beasts of all time.

We’re talking the scary creatures from the likes of Jaws, King Kong, Them! and Anaconda.

These are our top five, in no particular order, except for the last one. It’s the scariest by far.

First up we have the T-rex from Jurassic Park. If any thought ever terrified me, it was that a giant dinosaur would snatch me out of my bathroom.

I think it is fair to say that Jaws changed everyone’s views of swimming in Durban and Fish Hoek for ever. Also, sharks that eat boats??

Now, I am not sure if you ever watched (or have heard of) the film Tremors. It’s about “burrowing, biting super-worms” that “writhe around underground, causing suspicious seismic activity in the region”. They then “pop up and latch onto their prey with hooked mandibles”.

The sequels can’t have been easy to watch – the worms “develop legs and wings, while retaining their appetites for human-meat”. Fun times.

Anaconda is next up, purely because it makes me claustrophobic to think about being swallowed alive by a very large snake. Also, snakes that big should not even exist. Just, no.

In fifth and final place of most terrifying super beasts we have the Decepticons from Transformers (arguably some of the best movies of all time). The reason for their inclusion in this list is that they could actually be real. Of course we don’t know that for sure because we don’t know of any alien worlds out there, but just give it a think…

Do not get the Decepticons mixed up with the Autobots though – Bumblebee and his mates are the good guys.
