Inner City Ideas Cartel is not just an office space to rent in Cape Town. Think of it more as a ‘five star office space hotel’ – now there is something you don’t hear every day.
By now, you know your team at 2oceansvibe, if it is new and on the up – we are investigating it, reporting back to HQ and seeing if there is a story there. Turns out there is.
We got in touch with one Schuyler Vorster (seriously, that’s his name – we’ll get more background on him at another stage) who started the Inner City Ideas Cartel – a co-working and luxury serviced office in Cape Town for “small to medium sized businesses, freelancers, freethinkers and ideas pioneers.” You’ll know where it is – it’s on the Bree Street side of the Fan Walk Bridge that goes over Buitengracht street. Hemelhuijs restaurant is at the bottom.
Wanting to know a little bit more, we asked Schuyler about his vision for the company. He told us that whilst he started the space to support entrepreneurs and small teams, it was only at the beginning of this year that he sat down and wrote down a letter to himself about what his vision was for the company. Many people say these sort of things to get a marketing spin, I mean who actually writes a letter to themselves?
So we asked him to prove it. And he did. With his iPhone:
A quick export and here we have it, unedited and unabridged:
I want you to be able to walk into our buildings, have breakfast, a single origin cup of coffee, make your way to your office suite seeing people that are taking care of everything your office needs to run, work as hard as you possibly can before breaking to have a meeting in a boardroom that inspires you.
At lunch I want you to have the choice of working out, having a massage, grabbing a smoothie or working straight through because you can have all of these delivered your office.
By the time the workday ends I want you to be able to come to our rooftop, decompress with like-minded individuals before taking yourself home or to the gym or to wherever or whatever you are working so hard for.
A five-star-workspace hotel.
Their rates are crazy competitive too, starting at a couple grand for a desk and access to boardrooms (full fibre wi-fi etc) all the way to an office with it’s own private bathroom with shower. Check oput their different plans here.
We like that. And what we like even more is talk of their next development which is going up on Loop Street – apparently with a rim-flow pool. Surely you jest? More on that when we have more info. One thing he did say is there will be more Chesterfield couches and you’ll smell Jo Malone scents when you walk in. Ok, I’m done!
If you are looking for an office space to rent in Cape Town or a co-working office that has a community of successful entrepreneurs. Go to the Ideas Cartel website and follow them @ideascartel on Facebook and Instagram.
Take a look at these offices – they’re insane.
