If you managed to sit through yesterday’s Parliamentary proceedings waiting for the shit to really hit the fan you may have been somewhat disappointed. There was name-calling, sure, there were some rather disparaging remarks aimed at Jacob Zuma, this is true, but no one was ejected and we never got to see any hard hats being used as weapons.
What we did get was Julius Malema threatening to take Zuma to court over Nkandla, which is somewhat ironic considering that Malema may well soon be back in court once the state can get its ducks in a row. Below from News24:
After facetiously thanking Speaker of House Baleka Mbete for not calling in Parliamentary Protections Officers, Malema left Zuma this simple message: “It’s very clear we’ll never get an answer, Mr President. Let’s meet in court”.
Can’t we just arrange a boxing match instead? In one corner, weighing in at an immeasurable cost to the tax payer, it’s Jacob ‘The Homestead’ Zuma. In the other, weighing in on things he really has no idea about, it’s Julius ‘Revolutionary House’ Malema.
Ding.
