Ugh shame BIC. You really did dig yourself the biggest of holes. As soon as the news broke out about their shitness that was a Women’s Day celebration post, the news obviously flew around the world, providing an easy target for other stationary companies to get their own back.
In the UK, Stabilo yelped in response with a Facebook post:

BIC released an apology the day of the original incident, deleting its original post and replacing it with the following:
Hi everyone. Let’s start out by saying we’re incredibly sorry for offending everybody – that was never our intention, but we completely understand where we’ve gone wrong. This post should never have gone out. The feedback you have given us will help us ensure that something like this will never happen again, and we appreciate that.
