Jose Mourinho – the Special One, as he has been dubbed, although Chelsea’s start to the season has seen them splutter to 13th after the first four matches.
Not that the poor start stopped him making a splash during the GQ Men Of The Year Awards at London’s Royal Opera House, although some of the limelight was stolen by his 18-year-old daughter Matilde.
Jose was accepting the Editor’s Special Award, the award handed over by none other than cool cat extraordinaire Samuel L. Jackson. Here’s what the Chelsea manager had to say about his family in the Daily Mail:
My wife and my son and my daughter have the biggest influence on me, that’s for sure,’ he confessed. ‘And why? Because they are the bosses and control everything in the house!
‘And in relation to my job they don’t try to influence me but at the end of the day they have a big influence because when it comes to make big decisions – where to go, where to work, when to change – on this kind of thing they have a big influence on me.’
Right, let’s see what Matilde and her old man wore then…
Those last two photos though, imagine arriving to pick up your date and seeing that look from her father?
All that panache does make us somewhat nostalgic, anyone remember this chap winning GQ”s title of South Africa’s best-dressed man back in 2010?
Good times, good times indeed.
