Sam Smith shot to international stardom last year with the smash hits ‘Stay With Me’ and ‘I’m Not The Only One’, his success resulting in the honour of performing the theme song for the upcoming Spectre movie.
The music video for ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ has proven very popular since its release last night, with a few shots from the movie itself mixed in for good measure. Here’s Rolling Stone
The singer released the Luke Monaghan-directed clip Sunday night, interspersing scenes from Spectre with Smith belting out the track in similarly exotic locales. The video doesn’t give too much away about the film, but shows Bond (Daniel Craig) interacting with Bond girls Monica Bellucci and Léa Seydoux…
“I tried to put myself in the shoes of Bond,” the singer [said]. “My music is a diary and it’s a recap of my life, and I wanted to bring that kind of honesty. In the lyrics … I wanted a touch of vulnerability from Bond, where you see into his heart a little bit.”
Not that any Bond fans out there won’t have seen the trailer for Spectre but here’s your memory jogged for those who went hard this past weekend.
The movie will hit local cinemas on November 27, which should give everyone plenty of time to get all worked up.
