It seems this past weekend was Obama’s time to lay down the law on the USA’s future presidents. Although the PROTUS gave a tongue-in-cheek set of supportive pointers for Kanye West, he wasn’t too fair on Trump. In an interview Obama did on CBS television’s “60 Minutes ” news programme was succinct in his opinion on Trump’s election campaign antics:
He knows how to get attention. He is, you know, the classic reality TV character, and at this early stage, it’s not surprising that he’s gotten a lot of attention. I don’t think he’ll end up being president of the United States.
In the same interview, Obama was asked about the remaining 15 months he has left in the White House:
I think having a fresh set of legs in this seat, I think having a fresh perspective, new personnel and new ideas — and a new conversation with the American people about issues that may be different a year from now than they were when I started eight years ago — I think that’s all good for our democracy. I think it’s healthy.
On the one hand, I am very proud of what we’ve accomplished and it makes me think, I’d love to do some more. But by the time I’m finished, I think it will be time for me to go.
What a great chap.
