It’s been a proud tradition here at 2oceansvibe, for around a decade now. We ignore “nature” and all these official “seasons” that people live by and we give it to you using our own method. This is how it works.

Anyone who has watched the movie The Castle, will understand the methodology surrounding “the vibe” – it’s just “the vibe” of the weather right now that tells us it’s summer. Even though “experts” think summer starts in December. Haha – are you pissed?

Another indicator would be the general clothing – or lack thereof – which the honies are wearing. I went to Rondebosch yesterday to buy some maps (or “charts” as we in the aviation industry refer to them) and was exposed to a bunch of students walking past, practically naked. I tell you what, if my daughter goes to university wearing that, it will be the parents protesting on campus for a change.

And lastly, WeatherPro – my favourite weather app (premium addition gets you long range forecast and you can change the settings to focus on wind). As soon as I see a long range forecast with all the max temps in the mid-to-late 20s, and virtually zero cloud, then surely it’s gotta be summer.

    Check it out.

    IMPORTANT NOTE:

‘The Roofer’, Sammy Leith and I chuckle every year when the general population has a melt down when the rain starts again in November. Like it’s never happened before. They’re genuinely shocked and completely forget that it happened last year. And the year before.. Every single year, in fact. We’re not quite sure why they keep forgetting it – maybe they pretend it’s not happening and erase it from memory when it’s gone. But I’ve found a better way to remember it every year.

    DUH! The song????

Have a rad summer, you crazy kids.

    From everyone at 2oceansvibe.
