At first, you would think that it would be because a famous female celebrity wore it on the red carpet, or a talk show host featured it on her show – but you would never think that a simple dress rose to fame through the world of female meteorologists of local American TV stations.
Apparently, the women have a strict dress code which regulates patterns and sleeve length so as to be conducive to on-air broadcasts with a green screen background. They even have a Facebook group where they chat and share opinions and fashion advice.
And that’s just what happened when one woman posted a pic of the affordable dress which they then turned into a sort of uniform: The Stretch Tunic Pencil Sheath Dress.
Boom boom pow.
The dress, which comes in a variety of colours, was seen on at least 50 weather reports across the country. Jennifer Myers, a meteorologist from Dallas, Texas, posted a collage to Reddit showing several of the women sporting the ensemble.
At $23, it’s no wonder the dress is popular – but unfortunately some of the colours are sold out until after Christmas. Who even knew.
