  • Hey Cape Town – You Can Lift Your Productivity By ‘Microdosing’ LSD – All The Rage In Silicon Valley

Think about the typical person you would find in Silicon Valley: they would have a reputable degree, work for a tech startup and be involved in either hardware, software, sales or business development. Now, to add to that list, they’re dabbling in microdoses of LSD.

Yup. Apparently it’s really good for enhancing productivity and creativity.

Those who dabble take it both in their free time and “occasionally” at the office, but they warn that you should only ingest it every four days: take the drug in the morning and then stick to your daily routine.

A microdose is about a tenth of the normal dose – around 10 micrograms of LSD, or 0.2-0.5 grams of mushrooms. The dose is sub-perceptual – enough, says Rick Doblin, founder and executive director of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, “to feel a little bit of energy lift, a little bit of insight, but not so much that you are tripping.”

Microdosing was first introduced at a conference on psychedelic research in 2011 by James Fadiman, author of The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide. Ever since, the number of people describing their experience and asking him for advice is rising steadily. Although the reports stem from all over the world – there’s a dude in the Cederberg who assists people who want to experiment in microdosing – James says the “übersmart twentysomething” from San Francisco is a consistent player as taking LSD is an extremely healthy alternative to Adderall. And we have all been there.

His correspondents have told him regular microdosing has alleviated a bevy of disorders, including depression, migraines and chronic-fatigue syndrome, while increasing outside-the-box thinking.

While LSD is pretty expensive, my suggestion would be to invest in a bottle of liquid acid. However, I’d be careful not to leave the bottle in your medicine cabinet as someone may mistake it for eyedrops.
