The SAPS have come under fire once more after a video surfaced showing an altercation in Phoenix, Durban that may have been unnecessarily aggressive.
In the video you can see motorists shouting out for the police to stop, the woman eventually put in the back of the van. News24 reports:
Spokesperson for the police Major Thulani Zwane, late on Tuesday denied brutality saying the woman was drunk and that the police officers had put her in the back of the vehicle and taken her home as she was under the influence…
Police on Wednesday confirmed that the woman was not charged saying: “At this stage there is no case relating to the alleged incident that has been opened.”
I think it’s noble that the police were kind enough to take this woman home, although personally I prefer the back of a taxi after one too many.
