Cities of China are shrouded in toxic smog.
While China takes the centre stage at the Paris climate change talks, hundreds of factories have been shut down by authorities and children were allowed to miss school. Airplanes were even grounded.
We decided it wasn’t worth the risk of sending our child to school as we do not know how insulated the classroom is from the air outside.
Parents passed around images of the edges of their windows covered in sticky tape as they attempted to block the smog from entering their homes.
Officials have vowed to fight a “war on pollution”, but it remains a major source of anger in China where many cities are regularly blanketed by smog.
