We know that the moment one of those Kardashians (pick any of them, they’re all the same) wears something orders go through the roof, women the world over clamouring to emulate their favourite fame-hungry attention seeker.
Well now it seems people are rather keen to emulate their favourite drug baron, the shirt El Chapo was wearing whilst being interviewed by Sean Penn flying off the shelves.
Just as an aside (and an ego deflate for the actor) here’s how little El Chapo actually knew about Penn.
BusinessInsider with more on that shirt though:
The striped shirt sported by the drug trafficker in a photo with Penn was sold out at a store in Texas, and a blue shirt with a paisley print featured in a separate photograph was also in high demand.
Los Angeles-based company Barabas makes both shirts, and even rebranded them, calling them “El Chapo shirts” in online ads. The store manager [said] that sales for the shirt have spiked so much since Penn’s article that the website crashed on Tuesday.
The photo that caused much of the fuss below:
Let this be a lesson to you aspiring fashion icons – all you need to do is run the world’s biggest drug cartel and your rise to fashionista is guaranteed.
Final lesson for the day before I hang up my teaching boots then. El Chapo didn’t make it too far in these running shoes, maybe you should’ve tried the PUMA IGNITE buddy?
