    This was one pissed off elephant who literally gave no shits as he smashed through cars and buildings on Wednesday in Siliguri in West Bengal state, India. People were freaked out as the elephant ran amok as he was trying to get back to the jungle.

    The loner elephant was a female without a herd who was probably looking for water and food when she strayed into the small town. After several hours, it became clear that the elephant just wanted to return back to the forest.

    Eventually, the elephant was shot three times with a tranquilliser gun and a crane was used to lift the ellie onto a truck.

    This is not a new occurrence, however, as the human population in India increases, so does the contact between man and wild.

    I mean, just the other day a leopard came into contact with people. In both India and Sri Lanka, other than selfies being a random form of death, 250 humans are killed by elephants in a year.

    India’s elephants are also threatened by speeding trains and illegal poachers looking for ivory to sell on the black market. Today, there are about 30,000 elephants across the country, restricted to about 15 per cent of their historic habitat, according to the environment ministry.
