If you give a monkey a typewriter it will eventually type out the complete works of Shakespeare (for real, there’s even a Wikipedia page), and the same goes for celebrity wannabe politicians I guess.
Back in 2000 Donald sat down and wrote a piece about what a Trump presidency would mean for the people of America. The Daily Beast have uncovered that piece, so let’s pick some of those nuggets for your enjoyment:
Here’s The Donald, in his own words—plus a quote from Thoreau?!—applauding the “celebrity culture in which athletes, movie stars and businessmen are considered for public office,” ripping “the hypocrites (who) argue that a man who loves and appreciates beautiful women…shouldn’t become a national leader” and trashing “the whinnying culture critics and media hacks (who) bemoan the rise of celebrity culture and warn about the decline of traditional political values.”
He concluded: “As a true conservative, I believe that a citizen politician, with the support of other private citizens, is smart enough and gifted enough to lead this great country and give it new spirit. If things go well, I’ll have a chance to demonstrate that fact.”
Sure DT, although you’re forgetting your current run owes its success to a truly uninformed voter base gobbling up your hateful rhetoric.
Now that it’s almost down to two, Republican versus Democrat, surely some kind of sense will prevail?
