What would be better for a teenage girl to give her mother this Mothers’ Day, than a granddaughter? That’s the message Truworths are sending out with their brilliant Mothers’ Day campaign, clearly encouraging teenage sex and pregnancy.
Now that main image above is not the ad I am referring to – that was just made to set the scene.
So please enjoy this ad, showing their ‘mother’ sporting some of their bras, suggesting your mother would also like the bras she is wearing – because she is a mother.
What is even worse is we all know that models are often younger than they’re made to look, right? So, given the model in this ad looks 16, she must surely be pre-teen?
Naturally Facebook had a thing or two to say.
And it’s not just online where they’ve blown it – it’s in real life too.

The big question at the end of all of this, is HOW IS IT POSSIBLE that during the endless meetings these corporates line up for anything as small as a fart, that NO-ONE flagged the fact that the age of the model used to portray the modern-day mother, is possibly too young?
Please tell me how that is possible?
